The Hickok Center has partnered up with Nickel and Dime Redemption Center. For every bottle or can collected Nickel and Dime Redemption will be donating 6 cents to the Hickok Center!!

It’s easy!! All you need to do is bring your empty bottles and cans to the Hickok Center and deposit them in various Blue Bins located around the center! For those whom would like to drop off bottle and cans, as a reminder we are now located at 2320 Brighton Henrietta Townline Rd…we share the building with the Boy Scouts of America!

8th Annual ADP Helmet Heroes Memorial Run

This year marks our eighth annual Helmet Heroes Memorial Run, honoring Andrew D. Parmeter. The event will take place on Saturday May 11, 2019.  The event will be held at Mendon Ponds Park. This year marks the addition of two team race categories for fitness centers and students, along with the 5k, 10k and mile fun run.

The run and competitions are an opportunity to raise awareness and educate the public on brain injury and prevention. There will also be other activities that include a silent auction, raffles, food and music.

Check in for runner’s starts at 7:30 a.m. in the Stewart Lodge of Mendon Ponds Park.

Race Times are as follows:

  • 10k begins at 9 a.m.
  • 5k begins at 9:15 a.m.
  • Mile Fun Run begins at 9:30 a.m.

Andrew D. Parmeter was a 2007 graduate of Wayne Central High School. In 2011, Andrew was the passenger in a car accident that left him with severe brain trauma. After three weeks of intensive care he succumbed to his injury. He had a passion for fishing, snowboarding and skateboarding, with the goal of joining the Navy. Had he survived he would have required lifetime support, like that provided by the Hickok Center for Brain Injury.

10th Annual Brain Waves Benefit Event

This year, the tenth Annual Brainwaves benefit event to mark brain injury awareness month and to support the Hickok Center for Brain Injury, Inc. will be held. This will take place on Sunday, March 24 from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Comedy @ The Carlson. The event will be an opportunity to show support for those impacted by brain injury and celebrate the efforts made to create positive lives for those individuals.   

There will be basket raffles, door prizes, live entertainment provided by Special Blend, and a buffet provided by Comedy @ The Carlson.

Awards will be given to special individuals and groups who have positively impacted the Hickok Center over the past year. The Community Hero Award (Larry Preston), Participant of the Year Award, these individuals will be honored.

Tickets are $20 per person/children under five are free. The Hickok Center welcomes sponsors and donations for the event. For tickets, sponsorship inquires and other information regarding the event call (585) 271-8640 ext. 202.

Hickok Center Wine Tour

This year, the Second Annual Wine Tour event will take place on September 30, 2017 from 8:45am-6pm. Tickets are $100 and include transportation and lunch. Tastings are $30 more.

The Hickok Center for Brain Injury provides supports to people with brain injuries and other neurological challenges to design and direct their own life journey. All proceeds will benefits the Hickok Center for Brain Injury, located at 114 South Union Street Rochester, NY 14607.
